IBEX. Pakistan celebrates Women’s Day 2018.

March 9th, 2018, Islamabad, Pakistan: Recognizing the immense achievements of Pakistani women and championing its vision of creating a diverse and inclusive workplace, IBEX. Pakistan celebrated the International Women’s Day with great fervor on March 8th, 2018.

Nationwide activities and festivities were organized by the global Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) conglomerate focusing on strong, trailblazing women pushing towards an thriving and sustainable future.

Titled the ‘League of Extraordinary Women, the day-long activities were planned and brought to action by the company’s Human Resource department led by Maheen Fatima – Vice President Human Resources and President of “League of Extra Ordinary Women” along with several Brand Ambassadors.

Through the event, IBEX. aimed not only to offer support for professional growth and leadership of women in contact centers across all locations in the country, build a strong network and facilitate engagement among women to support, mentor and develop young talent; the company also highlighted the importance of amplifying women’s participation in the sector.

The organization is known for eschewing gender biases at the workplace and consistently strives to improve the gender split in contact centers. Aligning its policies with IBEX. Global, the company leads the sector by empowering its female workforce, making them an effective part of the organization.

Talking about the event, a representative of IBEX. Pakistan, Madeeha Naseem, Employer Branding and Marketing Executive commented: “Our Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad offices were decorated with purple balloons and buntings. Cupcakes and greeting cards were kept at work stations even before employees came to the office. Moreover, cake cutting ceremony was held right after guest speaker session.  At the end of the ceremony, the management assembled on stage with internal and invited guest speakers for a group picture. A ‘Thank you wall’ exclusively for the female talent pool was set up to memorialize their immense contributions in the business, in addition to a ‘pledge wall’ on each city location. The best pledge was presented with the exciting gifts and chocolates.”

Adding she said: “This year’s campaign theme for International women’s day was #PressforProgress and I think that’s perfect. It means to encourage everyone to join together in pushing global attention towards achieving the goal of gender equality.”

Sharing a personal and empowering message for all the employees, Vice President Human Resources, Maheen stated: “On 8th March 2018 people in countries all over the world observe the International Women’s Day, a day that for more than a century has been set aside to celebrate women’s achievements and to strengthen the move towards gender parity. This year’s theme for International Women’s Day is #PressforProgress and we are calling on all women to help forge a better and more inclusive world. International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in their companies, countries and communities. The business world is continuously changing and each one of us can be a leader within our own sphere of influence by taking bold pragmatic action to accelerate gender parity. Through purposeful collaboration, we can help women advance and unleash the limitless potential offered to economies the world over. And while we know that gender parity won’t happen overnight, the good news is that across the world women are making positive gains day by day. Plus, there’s indeed a very strong and growing global movement of advocacy and support. International Women’s Day is not country, group or organization specific, it is celebrated everywhere. Now, more than ever, there’s a strong call-to-action to press forward and progress gender parity. A strong call to motivate and unite friends, colleagues and whole communities to think, act and be gender inclusive. A strong call to #PressforProgress.”

The event came to an end by also lauding the tireless efforts of Javairia Masood (HR Analyst), Fatima Khawaja (HR Business Analyst), Tehreem Fatima (Assistant Manager Operations), Bilal Kazmi (Assistant Manager HR), Meeshal Qureshi (HR Business Analyst) , Noor Ul Huda Arif (HR Business Leader), Tehreena Amir (Assistant Manager Operations), Sadia Ahmed (HR Business Analyst), for driving a successful event.
