FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 2025 | Global — Ananke, the global new media and development platform dedicated to inclusive digital storytelling, proudly announces the appointment of Namrata as its new Editor.
Namrata has been an integral part of Ananke’s leadership team as Director of Operations, and now steps into a new editorial role during a month that resonates with deep meaning. August, marked across South Asia as a symbol of liberation from colonial rule, becomes the backdrop for this powerful, symbolic appointment, an act of creative independence and regional solidarity.
Her new role is a natural evolution of her commitment to feminist media, narrative equity, and collaborative storytelling. It also reinforces Ananke’s vision to create decolonized, representative content rooted in inclusion, freedom, and voice.
“At its core, storytelling is freedom,” says Namrata. “Freedom to feel, to express, to take up space. To become Editor of a platform like Ananke, while staying true to Keemiya Creatives’ founding mission is to walk the path of solidarity and shared purpose. In this act, we reclaim editorial spaces that were once shaped by exclusion, and reimagine them with care, courage, and community.”
Namrata continues to lead Keemiya Creatives, India’s foremost literary consultancy, while taking on this editorial position at Ananke as part of a shared vision—not a merger, but a collaboration between aligned missions.
“Namrata’s appointment as Editor marks a pivotal moment not just for Ananke, but for feminist media at large. Her unwavering commitment to inclusive narratives and equitable storytelling perfectly aligns with our mission to challenge colonial frameworks and patriarchal structures in media. This isn’t merely a change in title. It is a deepening of intent. Together, we are cultivating a space that amplifies marginalized voices, nurtures collective leadership, and stands as a testament to what radical collaboration across the Global South can achieve.”— Sabin Muzaffar, Founding Editor, Ananke
Ananke’s ethos has always been grounded in ethical storytelling, feminist mentorship, and democratizing the media landscape. Namrata’s appointment is not just about new leadership, it is about honoring the freedom to tell stories without permission, to work across borders without fear, and to create without limits.
