H.E. Noura Al Kaabi to headline LinkedIn MENA Talent Awards 18

UAE Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development to headline LinkedIn MENA Talent Awards 2018.

Oct 1st, 2018, Dubai (UAE): Representatives from some of the biggest companies in the Middle East are gearing up for this year’s edition of the LinkedIn MENA Talent Awards, the region’s flagship event for companies that have made a mark in the recruitment and employer branding space.

This year’s event, scheduled to take place on October 4 at the Palazzo Versace Dubai, will be toplined by Her Excellency Noura Al Kaabi, UAE’s Minister of Culture and Development, Dr Hayat Sindi, one of the world’s leading biotechnologists and Senior Advisor to the Islamic Development Bank’s President for Science, Technology and Innovation, and Ali Matar, Head of LinkedIn MENA.

Held for the fourth consecutive year, the MENA Talent Awards aim to celebrate the success of employers, individuals and teams who have used LinkedIn solutions to make a significant impact within their organisations. The winners will be awarded in the following categories: Top Social Recruiter; Best Talent Acquisition Team; Best Employer Brand on LinkedIn; LinkedIn Rising Star; Talent Intelligence Pioneer; Top Digital Sales Team; and Best Culture of Learning.

Commenting on her involvement, Her Excellency Noura Al Kaabi, UAE’s Minister of Culture and Development, said: “An increasing number of companies within the MENA region have found international acclaim, and it is no small secret that this growth is supported by their ability to attract, develop, and retain top talent. By recognising the efforts of these organisations, the MENA Talent Awards are an incentive for companies to continue pursuing excellence in their organisational norms and recruitment policies”

 Dr Hayat Sindi, Senior Advisor to the Islamic Development Bank’s President for Science, Technology and Innovation, said: “The entire MENA region is in an exciting period of change and social reform, and I am sure this is influencing talent acquisition policies in companies across the board. I look forward to seeing how this manifests in the years to come, and I send my best wishes to all the nominees this year.”

 Ali Matar, Head of LinkedIn MENA, said: “Over the past year, leading decision makers have continued to create value for their organisations through LinkedIn’s solutions. The 2017 edition Talent Awards had seen the introduction of a new ‘Culture of Happiness’ award, which seeks to recognise deserving organisations that have created happy and positive work environments for their employees. The award was presented by Her Excellency Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, UAE’s Minister of State for Happiness, to Almarai Company.

Other top winners from last year included Ford Middle East and Africa, ACWA Power, and The Entertainer, who were each named Best Employer Brand on LinkedIn (Private Sector under 500 Employees). Dubai Airports, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and the Roads and Transport Authority won the title of Best Employee Brand on LinkedIn (Public UAE); while Careem was recognised for having the Best Talent Acquisition Team in the UAE. Other big winners included Emirates, Al-Futtaim, and Saudi Aramco, who were named Best Employer Brand on LinkedIn for companies in the Private Sector with over 500 Employees.
