The Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC) has selected 52 mentees to take part in the 4th cycle of its Mentorship Programme, which will continue for a period six months.

A meeting was held recently at the Council premises in the presence of selected mentees, mentors who had volunteered to take part in the current cycle as well as the initiative’s steering committee.

The mentorship programme offers the best hands-on and professional training to enhance the experience and competitiveness of the participants in the business environment.

The program aims to provide the participants with valuable expertise, support and guidance.

Commitment

While welcoming the new batch of mentees, Her Excellency Dr. Raja Al Gurg, President, DBWC, said that the mentorship programme reflects the DBWC’s commitment to supporting its members in various fields and providing them with the necessary skills for development by tapping into of the council’s various partnerships.

“The programme would help strengthen Dubai’s orientation as a leading destination for entrepreneurs. We can proudly say that the UAE is now perceived as the land of opportunities, an incubator for talented people, and a platform for flagship economic projects,” added Al Gurg. “We at the DBWC are very keen on embracing such orientations by laying out the foundations that motivate our members and provide them with the capabilities and components that will help them achieve their aspirations in their business.

Tremendous success

Nadine Halabi said that the previous cycles of the programme have greatly contributed to enhancing the skills of over 100 members of the council, calling on the mentees to seize this opportunity to boost their competitiveness in the business world.

“A customized plan will be set up according to the professional needs and requirements of each mentee. This includes personalized mentoring to help improve the skills and experiences of the participants which will enable them to advance their careers,”

Halabi stressed the DBWC’s mentorship programme meets all the needs and requirements and keeps pace with the best practices adopted in the mentorship and professional guidance field.

The Dubai Business Women Council’s mentorship programme is the first of its kind in the region targeting businesswomen and entrepreneurs and it’s a major initiative for institutional, personal and professional development in the business environment in Dubai.

The list of companies who took part in cycle 4 of the program and provided mentoring opportunities for the participants include representatives from Property Finder, Microsoft, Bayut | dubizzle, Visa, Emirates Airline, Edelman, Dell, PwC and many more.

Established in 2002, under the umbrella of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the DBWC is the UAE’s leading platform for the personal and professional development of businesswomen in the Emirate of Dubai. Since its establishment, the Council has dedicated its efforts to encourage women to play an active role in building the country and stimulating sustainable development.
